About me
I am a former municipal police officer. During my police career, I became very close to many of the business owners in my community. As small local communities gave way to suburban sprawl, and regional malls began to draw local customers away from their businesses, these business owners were forced to change the way they attracted new business. The old ways could no longer compete with the large department stores, chain stores and specialty shops and the large advertising budgets that were available to them. Word of mouth advertising, a yellow pages ad and the local newspaper gave way to radio and television commercials, large multi-page color inserts in the Sunday newspapers and roadside billboards. The small local business couldn’t compete, and their business suffered. The power of the internet arrived and again the large companies with deep pockets dominated online advertising. Sure, the local businesses began to develop their own websites … but developing and maintaining an advertising campaign designed to drive customers to the website was time-consuming and potentially very expensive. Again, the local business advertising got lost … this time on the web. In the last year or so, the economy has taken a horrible hit, and the large retailers and the mega-malls are not doing as well as they used to. Local business is once again becoming very popular with local consumers. But the internet is here to stay … and so is on-line advertising. Enter AdzZoo …
